How to Invite a New User to Your Twilio Account

Requirements

  • You must be the Account Owner or have Administrator privileges


Step-by-Step Guide

1. Log In to the Twilio Console

2. Access the Manage Users Section

  • Click on your account name in the top-right corner.

  • From the dropdown menu, select "Manage Users".

3. Invite a New User

  • Click the red "+" button to add a new user.

  • Enter the email address of the person you wish to invite.

  • Assign a role to the new user:

    • Administrator: Full access to account settings and resources.

    • Developer: Access to development tools and resources.

    • Billing Manager: Access to billing information and invoices.

    • Support: Limited access for support purposes.

  • Click "Send Invitation" to dispatch the invite

4. User Accepts the Invitation

  • The invited user will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation.

  • They must click the link and follow the prompts to join your Twilio account


Additional Information

  • Invitation Expiry: If the invitation is not accepted within 7 days, it will expire.

  • Resend Invitation: To resend an expired or pending invitation:

    • Navigate back to "Manage Users".

    • Find the user's email in the list.

    • Click on their email and select "Resend Invitation"


Tips

  • Role Assignment: Assign roles based on the principle of least privilege to ensure users have only the access they need.

  • Security: Regularly review user access and remove users who no longer require access to maintain account security.
