Create Meta Ads Account & Add to MaidThis Portfolio

Created by MaidThis Support, Modified on Thu, 11 Sep at 2:54 PM by MaidThis Support

Step 1: Access / Prepare Required Accounts

  1. Log in to Meta using a Facebook user account that has admin rights for the business.

  2. Make sure you have or can create a Meta Business Portfolio (or “Business Suite / Business Manager” depending on Meta’s naming in your region).

  3. Verify that you have the necessary roles/permissions: ability to create ad accounts, manage business settings.

Step 2: Create a New Meta Ads Account

  1. Go to Meta Business Settings.

    • You can do this via: business.facebook.com → select your business → settings.

    • Or via Meta Business Suite, locating Accounts → Ad Accounts.

  2. In the Ad Accounts section, click “+ Add” or “Create a new ad account”.

  3. Fill in required details:

    • Ad account name

    • Time zone

    • Currency

    • Business usage (for self, client, etc.)

  4. Accept the Meta advertising terms and any relevant policies.

  5. Set up payment method / billing information so ads can run.

Step 3: Add the Ad Account to MaidThis Portfolio

Assuming MaidThis Portfolio corresponds to a Business Portfolio with ID 505554826700847.

  1. Log in to the Meta Business Settings of the MaidThis account/Business Portfolio that corresponds to ID 505554826700847.

  2. Navigate to Business Settings → Accounts → Ad Accounts.

  3. Click “Add” and then select “Add an Ad Account”.

  4. When prompted, enter the Ad Account ID of the new ad account you just created.

    • If you created it yourself, you can find its Ad Account ID in Ads Manager or Business Settings.

  5. Assign appropriate permissions for the ad account within MaidThis’s portfolio: who can access, what roles (Admin, Advertiser, Analyst, etc.)

  6. Confirm that the ad account now appears under MaidThis’s Ad Accounts list (under the portfolio).

Step 4: Verification & Testing

  1. Check that you can access the Ad Account from MaidThis’s account / portfolio.

  2. Ensure billing setup by perhaps doing a small test ad (if possible) to verify ads dispatch and payment are functioning.

  3. Ensure that proper permissions are working (other team members, stakeholders, etc.)

Tips / Notes

  • Once you set time zone and currency for an ad account, changing them is very limited or might require closing the account and opening a new one.

  • Make sure MaidThis portfolio has been properly verified if required (business verification, identity verification) so that adding ad accounts is not blocked.

  • Keep documentation of the Ad Account ID, who has what permissions inside MaidThis.
